Please be advised that the https://www.mybettershelf.com/ website (hereinafter:
website) uses so-called “cookies,” or “cookies.” Below, you can read a general
overview of cookies, followed by information on the data processing carried out
by the cookies used on our website.

2. About cookies in general

2.1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small piece of data (a
variable-length, alphanumeric information packet) that the server of the
website you are browsing sends to your device. The cookie is stored in the
browser of your computer, phone, or tablet, and can later be read from there by
the sending server. Cookies cannot be read by other websites , only by the one
that placed them. Cookies provide us with information about visitors’ habits
regarding website usage. Cookies can be used for various purposes; for example,
to measure website traffic or to facilitate browsing by remembering pages
previously opened on the site. No cookie contains personal data that would directly allow anyone to contact you via email, phone, or regular mail. Cookies alone cannot identify a user; they are only capable of recognizing the
visitor’s device. If you do not wish to
accept the use of cookies on the website, you can configure your web browser to notify you when cookies are being placed or to prevent them from being placed.

Functions
similar to those of cookies can also be implemented using tools that, from a
technical standpoint, are not considered cookies because they only partially
meet the above description. However, from the perspective of data protection
and data processing, the rules applicable to cookies must also be observed when
using such tools; therefore, the term “cookie” as used in this document shall
also be understood to include such additional tools.

2.2.
How can you control the use of cookies?

We place cookies on the device you use to
visit our website (your computer, phone, or tablet). We inform you of this in a
pop-up window that appears when you start browsing our website and the homepage
loads.

We do not need your consent to place cookies that are
necessary to ensure the functionality and user-friendly operation of our
website. However, we do need your consent to enable
cookies used to identify your device, as well as those used for anonymous traffic
analysis and data collection for marketing purposes. We ask for your consent in
the pop-up window mentioned above. You can access this window at any time by
clicking on “Cookie Settings” at the bottom of the page, and you can change
your consent for specific data collection activities at any time.

Regardless of the settings options we
provide above, you can always choose to disable and delete cookies in
your web browser settings. However, please note that without the use of “necessary/functional”
cookies, you will not be able to access many features that make browsing
easier, and some of our services may not function properly.

2.3.
Managing cookie settings in browsers

You can change your cookie settings in the
pop-up window or through your browser. You can disable cookies by activating
the setting in your browser that allows you to refuse the placement of all or
certain cookies. These settings are usually available in your browser’s
“Settings” or “Preferences” menu. You can find more information using the following
links:

2.4.
Types of cookies

Cookies can be valid for the duration of a
session—so-called temporary or session cookies—or permanent—stored (persistent)
cookies—and we distinguish between first-party (internal) and third-party
(external) cookies. Below, you can read what these terms mean to better
understand the cookies we use and why we use them.

2.5.
Cookies valid during your browsing session

Session cookies allow us to recognize you
during your visit to our website so that your browser can remember any page
changes or selections you make as you navigate from page to page within the
site. These cookies allow you to quickly and easily navigate through and back between
many pages on a website without having to identify yourself or repeat processes
on every page you visit. Once you finish browsing the site or close your
browser—but no later than a few hours—these cookies are automatically deleted
from your device.

2.6.
Persistent cookies

Persistent cookies are cookies that remain
“persistent” on your device for a certain period of time (their validity is
defined in days, weeks, months, or years) after the browsing session has ended,
thereby allowing us to recall
your preferences or actions during subsequent visits to the website (e.g., data
entered into a form on a specific page can be stored). Saved
cookies remain on your device until their expiration date, but you can delete them before the predefined
expiration dates.

2.7.
Cookies from the website operator

Cookies originating from the server of the
website you are browsing. In this case, these are functional and convenience cookies
sent from the server hosting the website operated by the Data Controller, the general
characteristics and operation of which are detailed above. These record your
device’s IP address, the pages visited while using the website, and, if
applicable (at your discretion), the data you entered. This allows you to avoid
having to repeatedly perform the same actions—such as opening the same pages or,
depending on your choice, re-entering data—every time you open a new page or
return to the website after leaving it. We use cookies to ensure that
registered users of our website have the appropriate permissions; once a user
has logged in to the website, they are granted the necessary permissions. These
cookies do not store any other information in this regard, not even when you
logged in or who logged in; we simply use them to verify login permissions.

These are so-called session cookies, meaning they are
valid only for the duration of your browsing session. This means that when you
begin browsing the website, the cookie is activated; it remains active for up
to a few hours after your last activity and expires when you log out.

An exception to this is the cookie that stores your
login credentials based on your decision, which is stored on the device you use
for browsing for 365 days.

2.8.
Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies do not originate from the Data Controller or the server
hosting the website. These cookies are also stored by your computer, phone, or
tablet when you visit the site, as described below.

2.8.1.
Traffic Analysis

Files from Google Ireland Ltd. help monitor the site and provide
information on how the site is used (such as the number of visitors, pages
viewed, the region of the visitors—where the user is browsing from—where the
user “comes from”—which other website—the browser used, operating system,
internet service provider, and the resolution of the monitor currently in use,
the time spent browsing the site, and when the user left the site). We use this
information to compile statistics and further develop the website.

With the settings we use, visit analysis alone results in anonymous
statistical data, based on which your device (and you) cannot be identified.
However, Google Ireland Ltd., the provider of the analytics cookies, may
potentially be able to identify your device and you based on data collected
about you in connection with its own services provided directly to you, or when
you use services other than ours. An example of this is if you visit our
website in the same browser in which you are simultaneously logged into your
Google account. However, even in such cases, we cannot identify you or your
device.

The data collected in this way is therefore also accessible to Google
Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), the owner and
operator of Google’s tools.

You can find more information about this on the following Google page:

https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/.

2.8.2.
Marketing

Google Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House,
Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Facebook –
Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland) (hereinafter collectively referred
to as: Service Providers) provide online marketing services using cookies and
so-called pixels. Through these services, the Providers have access to the data
described above, which is processed to measure website traffic and track
browsing habits. This data is stored permanently using the Service Providers’
tools, but via cookies that remain active for up to 1 year, which are stored on
the device the User uses for browsing. The User can delete these cookies in
their browser settings. No data is stored in your browser during the data
collection process carried out by the pixel. The Service Providers also use the
above data to deliver targeted advertisements to the browser user. In doing so,
the Service Providers determine the user’s interests based on browsing habits
from the device in question by linking the data collected via cookies and the
pixel with the browser’s identifier or the IP address of the device used for
browsing ( ), and then deliver targeted advertisements to that device.

You can find more information about the above on the following pages of the
aforementioned providers:

https://www.google.ie/ (Google),

https://developers.facebook.com/products (Facebook).

3.
Data processing related to cookies and log files used on our website

3.1.
Data
subjects: all Users visiting the website.

3.2.
Legal basis
for data processing: with regard to data processing that is technically
indispensable for the provision of the service,
Section 13/A(3) of Act CVIII of 2001 on Certain Issues of Electronic Commerce
Services and Information Society Services (hereinafter: the E-Commerce Act)
Section 13/A(3) authorizes the Data Controller to process data necessary for
the proper operation of the website. Such data processing is carried out
through log files and certain cookies. You can read more about log files in
Chapter 4; information regarding the relevant cookies is provided below.

In accordance with the above, the
legal basis for the processing of such data is the legitimate interest of the
Data Controller pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Under this legal basis, we process
only data that is necessary for the user-friendly operation of the website, and
we process this data only for as long as is necessary for this purpose. This
includes technical data (e.g., IP address, browser type, and screen resolution)
that is necessary for the proper display of the website’s pages and for the
intended and convenient use of its features. We do not transfer this data to
third parties, nor do we process it for any other purpose. In light of this,
the processing of this data poses no risk to you; however, the aforementioned
purpose—the proper use of the website—cannot be achieved without processing
this data. It is in our legitimate interest to ensure the usability of the
website, as this is the only way we can make our services available
electronically. Ensuring the availability of our website is an essential condition
for our effective operation. Therefore, we process the above data based on our
legitimate interest to achieve the purpose specified here, which— —as the data
processing poses no risk to you—proportionally limits your right to
self-determination.

With regard to data processing
enabling marketing activities and visit analysis, the legal basis for data
processing is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. You may
consent to the collection of data for marketing purposes and visitor analytics by
checking the checkbox in the pop-up window that appears when you begin browsing
the website. Although we do not process personal data based on visit analytics
data, since Google can potentially identify you, we may only use visit analytics
with your consent.

3.3.
Scope of
processed data:

Data processed to enable
user-friendly browsing:

- the web pages visited during your visit to the website and the order in which
they were opened

- the IP address of the device you are using.

Scope of data processed for online
marketing activities:

- the frequency with which
individual web pages on the site are viewed, and the time spent browsing each
page,

- conclusions about your interests that
can be drawn from the above,

- your browser’s identifier.

In the event that data is stored for
the purpose of verifying access rights to the website (storage is at your
discretion):

- your email address (as a username)
or username,

- password,

- the IP address of the device you
are using.

We perform visit analysis by
collecting anonymous data, so we do not process any personal data in this
context.

3.4.
The purpose
of data processing: to ensure the user-friendly and secure operation of the website,
as well as to conduct online marketing activities.

Specifically:

a)     Necessary and functional data
processing (“Essential” and “Functional” categories in the pop-up window):

Identifying the device you use for
browsing and storing identification data—for the duration of your browsing
session—based on your IP address. This makes browsing smoother; without it, you
would have to identify yourself or repeat processes on every page you visit.

c)     Data processing for marketing
purposes (“Marketing” category in the pop-up window):

If you have consented to the use of

use the necessary data for their own purposes, including to display third-party
ads. Such ads are displayed based on your interests as inferred from your
browsing habits.

In doing so, Google Ireland Ltd. and
Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. determine the inferred interests based on browsing
habits by linking data regarding browsing habits with your browser’s identifier,
and then deliver targeted advertisements to the respective device. Therefore,
the data is not recorded in connection with you personally, but rather with the
device used for browsing, primarily your browser.

Google Ireland Ltd. and Meta
Platforms Ireland Ltd. do not have access to any data other than that described

d)     Data associated with the following
purposes is processed in a manner that can be linked to you, but we only access
it for such technical purposes when you log in; otherwise, it may be stored on
your device:

- your email address or username and
password, and their potential storage to facilitate login (stored on your
device at your discretion)

- your email address (as a username)
or your username and password (in encrypted form; we cannot view the password)
during the verification of your login credentials, and the IP address of the
device you use for browsing.

3.5.
Duration of
data processing: we process some of the data for the duration of your browsing
session; certain data is stored in cookies for a variable period, but for no
longer than 1 year, 1 month, and 4 days.

Data necessary to ensure the
user-friendly operation of the website (IP address, the order of pages visited
on the website during browsing), as well as data necessary for verifying login
credentials and ensuring access rights, are recorded for the duration of the
browsing session (i.e., while you are browsing the website) and are deleted upon
its completion or after a maximum of two hours. We process such data using our
own IT system tools; third parties do not have access to them.

Your username and password may be
stored permanently at your discretion; this information is stored in cookies
saved on your device. You can delete these cookies in your browser settings,
thereby controlling the duration of data storage.

We conduct visitor analytics by
collecting anonymous data, so we do not process any personal data in this
context.

Data relevant to your interests and
suitable for targeting advertisements is stored only until the end of your
browsing session. The cookies that enable this are stored on the device you use
for browsing. You can delete these cookies or prevent them from functioning at
any time by adjusting your browser settings, or by clicking the “Cookie
Settings” link at the bottom of the website and disabling the “Marketing”
categories in the window that appears.

3.6.
Method of
data storage: electronically in our IT system. Service provider cookies are
stored locally on your device.
To facilitate login, the login data you have saved is
stored on your device for this purpose, also electronically.

For more information on data processing using third-party
service providers’ tools, please visit

Google https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/,

Facebook https://developers.facebook.com/products. Of the features offered by the
above providers, we only use those described above.

4.
Log File Entries

Our IT system associated with the hosting
used to operate our website uses electronic log entries. The log entries store
the IP address, the type of browser used by the visitor, the internet service
provider, date/time stamp, the addresses of the referring and exit pages, and
the number of clicks during the visit. This is done so that we can properly
display our website on your device and, in the event of a malfunction,
investigate the circumstances of the error, thereby making browsing more stable
and secure if necessary. It enables us to manage and administer the website.
The data cannot be used to directly identify individuals and is stored for 30
days.

Data processing via log files otherwise
takes place under the conditions described in Chapter 3, with the exception
that log files are not used for visitor analysis or marketing purposes.
