A couple from Germany purchased 2 pieces of our minimalist oak floating nightstand - their goal was to replace their classic freestanding nightstands with a contemporary alternative that is not just well-designed and handcrafted, but allows better movement for their robot vacuum cleaner.

Michael pointed out that first they were looking to achieve a lighter look and instead of a massive, heavy object with legs, they especially liked the floating design as it offers a light visual look - while still providing some storage space. The floating nightstand seemed to be an ideal choice as it can hide some things in the drawer while decor pieces or everyday essentials can be placed on the top, for example a book, mobile phone or a glass of water. It still functions as a storage, but comes with a modern look and the drawer is almost hidden in the cabinet.
Michael added that they wanted to avoid the classic furniture store look (cheap laminated materials) - instead, a handcrafted piece with thoughtful design that cannot be found anywhere: that was exactly what they were looking for. The clean mitered edges and the continuous wood texture that flows through the top and sides (also called waterfall effect) convinced them that it must be a high quality item not just on the photos but in real life as well.

When asking our customer whether there is anything they would change, they pointed out that a discreet cutout on the back would allow charging their phones while hiding the cables - a requirement they forgot to mention earlier, however, this could have been added easily. We are happy to offer cable cutouts for our nightstands and other floating furniture so if you have a wall socket below the furniture, the cable can come up at the back of the nightstand, offering a simple but elegant cable management.
The mounting was easy, even on drywall. Michael told us that they were lucky to find wood structure (studs) behind the wall so they did not need to use drywall anchors at all. However, if your drywall does not have studs at all - the mounting is still possible, all you need to do is using heavy-duty drywall anchors, preferably made of metal.
"The ordering process and communication was a pleasant experience to us and we received answers quickly. We got all the info we needed - detailed manuals and mounting instructions that left no questions in us. Our bedside got tidier and well-organized, without furniture legs blocking the way of our vacuum cleaner. It gives a difference that we feel every day either we look at the nightstands or when cleaning."
